Day 10 Belorado

Wheat fields and the wild flowers of the Camino. The vineyards have disappeared replaced by wheat or other grain fields. Along the path so far are red poppy flowers. In addition there are quite a few purple flowers too. Yesterday I came across some amazing blue flowers, I neglected to take a picture expecting to see more but apparently it may have been a unique experience for the La Roija region. If I see them again I will not pass up the opportunity to take a picture.

Today I met three Portuguese sisters from Canada. Connie, Teresa and Maria. They come from a big family of 8.
They are doing the Camino for Teresa’s 60th birthday. Teresa a Cancer survivor and learned of the Camino while battling Cancer when she watched the movie “The Way”. After chatting for a half hour I bid farewell and pressed on. Much of today’s journey was along a highway and thus a little noisy and boring at times. Today was a shorter leg at 22km, and seemed easier with mild temperatures. Upon arrival into Belorado I was greeted with cries of “Hey Papa Stu!” from Marco and Mickey. I was planning on staying at another Albergue but was convinced to stay where Marco and Mickey were staying, so we can have dinner together.

Another day in the books… you should know that I am thinking of how blessed I am to have such a great family, friends and work colleagues that are part of my community. I think of you all as I am on this journey and trust that you are all well.

Buen Camino
