Day 15 Fromista
Another cool crisp day. With temperatures in the mid 40’s F, it was another day to bundle up and walk the Meseta. Meseta translates to plateau, and today I walked 25 km of this region in relative solitude. Yes there were some other pilgrims, mostly from other countries, we waved or gave the typical “buen Camino” greeting, but otherwise it was a day of solitude.
I used the opportunity to work on my inner self. One area I would like to be a better person on is on enhancing my “attitude of gratitude”. I don’t know about you, but at times in my normal life I tend to loose site of the good things in life. Often focusing more on the negatives than the positives. So I spent a good portion of today identifying the blessings in my life.
Another area I would like to improve on is achieving more of my dreams. I am reminded of a quote that “fear kills more dreams then failures”. I would like to fail more while reaching for a dream, than to have never tried due to fear. In some ways this Camino is a fulfilment of a dream. It’s something I have wanted to do for sometime, yet it almost did not happen if I had given into the fear.
Do you have dreams of doing something courageous? If so, reach for them! Better to have failed at trying then to have not started.
