Day 21 Hospital De Orbigo
With less sleep than I desired for a rest day because of the new friends last night, I was up early and eager to put the boots on and continue the journey. I opted to take a bus out of Leon to the next town 7 km away, and I had no regrets. Nothing but industrial areas. In fact most of today’s 28km were spent about 15 feet from a busy highway. Lots of trucks and cars zooming by all day.
Still it was good to get back at it. With about 13 days left to walk (depending on how much walking Lori can do) I can sense the end is approaching. And so while today was not the best scenery on the Camino, I savored the opportunity to live this experience.
I am reminded of the dry and desert parts of normal life. While in the moment you want the desert to end, but you cannot wish it away, you just have to walk through it.
