Day 24 Cruze de Ferro and Molinaseca

Today was one of the more strenuous days in journey since Day 1.

While the climb up was moderate, the decent was challenging with considerable loose rock and steep terrain. The weather today was nothing short of spectacular cool in the morning and warm and sunny in the afternoon.

Cruze de Ferro was a unique experience. For some, notably bicyclists it’s more of a “I reached the top” and is more of a photo opportunity. For other pilgrims it’s a solemn sacred experience, proving once again that the Camino is flexible for all points of view.

Upon decending from the hills I reached Molinaseca, perhaps one of quaintest towns on the Camino. Notably with a river running through it where the town has created a swimming area. Today being a warm afternoon the local teenagers were out frolicking in it and having a great time.

If you watched the Movie “The Way”, you may recall the crazy Albergue owner named “Ramon”. Well I had dinner tonight at Casa Ramon and got a stamp for my credential… the food was one of the best on the journey, and he was not crazy like in the movie. However the stamp does remind me of the movie… I’ve included a picture.

Lots of pictures today…. hope you enjoy them.
