Day 31 Sarria

Once again we have been blessed with great weather. Cool mornings to walk in, and clear skies for the views. Today I captured a great picture of low clouds in the valleys below us. Not sure if I captured it’s magnificence, but at least the pic will remind me of the beauty.

I saw a quote scribbled on the wall of an Albergue we had dinner in tonight that captured me. “It’s not the big pleasures of life that matter, but rather the big deal you make out of many small ones….” And another moved me to near tears…. “If I don’t do this alone, I will never find my true self…”

Today was a day of mixed emotions. While slogging along up a steep hill I was thinking ” I am ready for this to be over..” and then later tonight those quotes stir the inner man who initiated this journey and does not want it to end. As we approach the 100km mark, it seems like yesterday that I started as well as a distant memory stepping out the door and on to the Camino from St Jean.

I have vowed to enjoy these last 120km, because this is an experience that has changed my life. Not sure I have found myself yet…. still looking, I think I may have caught a glimpse of him through those quotes….

Buen Camino
