Day 38 Relaxing in Santiago de Compostela
We took a English walking tour of Santiago, and we were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour today. Our guide, David just graduated from college last week with a degree in chemical engineering. David did part of his undergraduate studies in Berkeley California, and thus his English was very good. He gave us a wonderful tour of the city, pointing out some very interesting and unique points of interest and facts.
After lunch, we took a less enjoyable tourist tram ride around the city. The tour was in Spanish and English and we had a hard time hearing the guide speak due to road noise and a very fast pace of information being shared.
In the early evening we took a walk through Alameda Park. This is a great park on the west side of the city that connects the University with the city.
Tomorrow will be our last day before returning home to normal life. We plan to spend some more time in the Cathedral and the rest of the day shopping and gathering a few mementoes.
