Day 8 Ventosa (repost)
Today I met a father and son (Nick) from Florida walking the Camino. I had previously met Joe the grandfather of Nick in Pamplona. There are four in their family walking the Camino. Joe at 73 is walking some and busing other times based on his condition. Nick has a sister walking as well but she also has struggled and was busing it with Grandpa Joe today.
I picked up another blister today on the side of my heel… strange place haven’t had that happen before.
Hoping it won’t slow me down tomorrow.
The scenery today was majestic. Leaving the bustling city of Logrono I walked through a great park and the Camino is used as an exercise path for some distance out of town to a lake. This gave way to the rolling hills of the La Roija region filled with vineyards.
On the way I passed through Navarrete and stopped at an amazing church to pray and contemplate this journey. The Church has some amazing art covered in gold leaf. It was rather dark so I hope the pictures I took do it justice.
Pressing on I made for my destination of Ventosa putting in 19 km today.
