Gyor to Komaron/Komarno
It was a whirlwind of gravel paths and cobblestone roads as we traversed the Hungarian countryside, with our bikes taking us from Gyor to Komarno.
Bratislava to Gyor
We arrived in Gyor, a charming city with a rich history. We stayed in a former monastery and were surprised to find AC in our room. We also did some laundry and enjoyed a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Bad Deutsch-Altenburg to Bratislava
We took an alternate route to Bratislava via Schloss Hof, the largest country palace in Austria. We arrived at 10 AM and felt like we had the place all to ourselves. We wandered the palace and the extensive gardens, which were breathtaking. I took a lot of video, but some settings got changed on the camera, making the video for the rest of the day appear washed out.
Vienna – St. Stephan’s Cathedral and Schonbrunn Palace
Our day in Vienna started early with a visit to St. Stephan’s Cathedral, where we lit candles for our grandchildren and explored the beautiful public areas. After a short Uber ride to Schonbrunn Palace, we enjoyed an informative guided tour of the historic site, followed by a leisurely stroll through the vast gardens.
Krems – Vienna
We set out from our hotel to Vienna on another 90+ km day, navigating through Krems and joining the Danube cycle path for a peaceful ride.
Grien – Krems
Today was an exciting journey with stunning landscapes and cultural landmarks. We visited the Melk Abbey and Durnstein, soaking in the beauty of the Wachau Valley. Despite the busy roads, the scenic views made the trip unforgettable.

Embarking on a thrilling cycling adventure, we set out early for a scenic ride along the south side of the river. The morning was clear and cool, with breathtaking views that made the journey truly unforgettable.
