Budapest – Salzburg Travel Day
We boarded a high-speed train from Hungary to Salzburg, enjoying the scenic ride with its 12 stops along the way. Despite the long journey, we’re excited for our next adventures, including a walking tour and a visit to the Eagles Nest.
Budapest Rest Day
Our guided walking tour of Budapest was an unforgettable experience, with Alexandra as our passionate guide. We explored iconic sites like St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Parliament Building, and learned about Hungarian history. The tour ended with a delightful lunch and a delicious chimney cake.
Esztergom – Budapest via train
We took the train from Esztergom to Budapest, which was a great decision despite the rain. The train was packed with school kids on some weekend adventure.
Komarom/Kormarno – Esztergom
A day for the unexpected. We unexpectedly had a chance to see the Esztergom Basilica and enjoy the rich countryside of Slovakia .
Gyor to Komaron/Komarno
It was a whirlwind of gravel paths and cobblestone roads as we traversed the Hungarian countryside, with our bikes taking us from Gyor to Komarno.
Bratislava to Gyor
We arrived in Gyor, a charming city with a rich history. We stayed in a former monastery and were surprised to find AC in our room. We also did some laundry and enjoyed a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Bad Deutsch-Altenburg to Bratislava
We took an alternate route to Bratislava via Schloss Hof, the largest country palace in Austria. We arrived at 10 AM and felt like we had the place all to ourselves. We wandered the palace and the extensive gardens, which were breathtaking. I took a lot of video, but some settings got changed on the camera, making the video for the rest of the day appear washed out.
Vienna – Bad Deutsch-Altenburg
Today’s ride from Vienna to Bas Deutsch-Altenburg was a pleasant 46km journey along the Danube cycle path. Despite the flat terrain, the path was mostly paved, making it an easy ride for us. As we settled in for the night, we enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of the town and took a stroll through the local park.
